For journalists
If you're a journalist working on a story that touches digital identity in Ireland, here's what we have, how to use it, and how to reach us fast.
What we publish
- Plain-English explainers of MyGovID, the Public Services Card, the EUDI Wallet, the Online Safety Code, GDPR rights, and identity-theft response.
- A live outage log for MyGovID and related state systems.
- A running issues page tracking active controversies and DPC rulings.
- Investigative pieces backed by FOI requests, DPC decisions, or primary-source documents.
Quotes and citations
You're welcome to quote MyID. Please:
- Use "MyID, Ireland's independent guide to digital identity" or "myid.ie".
- Link to the specific page you're quoting where possible.
- If you want a named MyID editor quote, contact /contact/ — we respond within one working day.
For background, not for attribution
Working on a complex identity story? We can offer background context (eIDAS timeline, DPC rulings history, EUDI Wallet implementation status across EU member states) on a not-for-attribution basis. Email and we'll arrange a quick call.
Story tips and FOI tips
If you have a tip about an identity-related story — an outage, a procurement decision, a DPC complaint, an unpublished memo — please send it to the contact email on the contact page. We treat all sources confidentially.
What we won't help with
- Personal data on identifiable individuals.
- Commentary on live court cases beyond what is on the public record.
- Defamatory framing of identifiable officials.
Press kit
If you need our logo or a description of what we do for a piece, see the about page. A formal press kit will be available later in 2026.
